Durham

7 plus hours of driving from Howick to Sussex.  We did stop in Durham to see the cathedral with Bede's tomb and have some lunch.  It will be worth going back in 2016 when the cathedral will be in a position to display some of its treasures.  Also to get a decent photo!  This is the castle which we didn't visit but my photos of the cathedral are rubbish.  The cathedral was magnificent - to see so many perfect Norman arches and columns still in place is amazing.
