Never learn

So as the totally false oil slump goes on this new discovery brings up some valid points.
But it seems that, according to this newspaper, I forget which one, the lesson of the squandering of the oil cash in Scotland, has not been learnt.
Instead of using any monies for setting up an oil fund, like other countries have done, so future generations can benefit, they want to use it to pay off the national debt.
That worked in the past didn't it?
I mean a nation like ours having food banks and severe austerity measures to the less well off, whilst the rich and mighty get off with it.
What do you bet that because it's near London, if companies as for a tax break to extricate the oil, that Westminster will most likely give it. Just like they did North of the border, oh wait a minute, they didn't/don't.
