Surviving tree

We bought 2 of these trees last summer, and the one was still looking very good at the end of summer, whereas this one was more brown than green. We decided to let the 'good' one spend the winter in a friend's greenhouse, and left this one outside to die. I was surprised when we came back from our 3 month holiday to see that it is actually looking a bit better than when we left! The pot has a big crack at the bottom, so I guess that allowed the excess rain water to escape. I think it deserves to be fed and replanted now, as soon as this snow has stopped. Another storm is predicted for tonight...
