I apologise G, you had not weeded it out and destroyed my cosseted plant. The Asparagus, note the capital letter, has re-emerged. The long thin stick and the medium-sized fat one have now been "harvested" and tomorrow will be in an omelette. Self-sufficiency, can't beat it!
