Garlic shoots
Up early this morning to go to Cramond for the Park Run. An event that is held all over the country at the weekend. It’s an organised, but free to enter, timed 5K run. Must have been about 300 people down there. Had a hard run after the bike ride home yesterday. Just under 27 minutes so not a great time.
Came back and spent some time tidying the garden and digging over the remaining half of the veg patch. Must have pulled 3 or 4 bags of stones and rubble from it. Ran out of rubble bags so couldn’t get the job finished. Might have to do a tip run tomorrow.
Headed out to get the weekly shop done. Managed to find some rhubarb for apple and rhubarb crumble for tea. J wanted to do a Thai curry and had got some trout out of the freezer in the morning. Didn’t realise it was whole trout. While she was studying I have to figure out how to gut and fillet them. I hate having to gut fish, yuk.
Had a nice tea in the end and watched the final of the voice. Didn’t agree with the result but we never seem to. The opera singer had a much better voice and her performance with Will-i-am was very clever.
Needed a photo for this week’s theme of growing. So here is some of the garlic that seems to be doing well. Not all of them have sprouted and I cleared the mouldy bulbs from the rest of the pots today. Glad to have the sun out again so I can spend some time in the garden doing stuff now we have one. Looking forward to J finishing her exams so we can both be out there together.
