Our Foundling Swallow

We really suspect that the mom kicked him out of the nest because she realised that winter is early this year and he was too small to migrate to warmer areas with her. It is really chilly the last couple days and he is not strong enough to fly yet. We usually let them free on time to join a group and fly with them, but we will have to keep him until the swallows return in September.

Charmaine made this little 'bedroom' in the cage for him, and he loves it! He started eating the mealworms from the palms of Charmaine and Ronnie jr's hands yesterday, no need to feed him with tweezers anymore! Darn cute little critter!
