I'm not sure what the opinion on this shot will be. I've tried a square framing this time (a la benek) and its a very tight crop. I did this because those extra few pixels that I've chopped off the forehead entirely changed the picture for me.

The photo is of my friend Spear. He is a machine. He is massive. We have had an entire line of guys all hitting him one after another and he just stands there and takes it. I have hit him before and my hand was more damaged than his face was. To people who don't know him, he's a man to be terrified of. The guy you would just avoid, in case you accidentally offended him.

To the people who know him, he's a big baby bear. Sure, one word out of line and he could rip your head off. But he's actually quite a gentle, quiet guy. Intelligent, a good laugh and it's always great fun watching how people react to him when they meet him.

Those few pixels somehow changed him from a photo of a scary machine man who will kill you into an image of quite a sensitive, intelligent guy. At least thats how I saw it.

So sure.. its a close crop - but i wanted to show everyone how I know him, as a great mate, whose about as scary as a teddy bear.
