Cauldron Snout
Cauldron Snout
Cold, bleak, hailstones, deserted, wild, windy. That was Cauldron Snout, which is part of the Pennine Way in County Durham. It is a spectacular waterfall however, and a more remote and rugged feature than its more popular tourist cousin, Highforce.
We then went for a 7 mile hike along the rocks following the river and then back through beautiful countryside. There is still snow on the hills here. If you like to get out and about, and away from busy places and people, then this is the place for you!
Then, a lovely drive home across the Moors where you feel on top of the world staring right up to the Cheviots and Scotland beyond.
