Fritillaria Meleagris
What a contrast in the weather. Bitterly cold and wet. Worked in the greenhouse this afternoon. Pricked out Didiscus and Basil and sowed Linaria, Cerinthe and some more antirrhinum. Tidied up and made some space for more seedlings. The snakes head fritillaria is beginning to spread. It's planted by an old tree trunk and has to be seen close in to be fully appreciated. Monty Don said that it survives flooding so I'm guessing it likes to be at least kept in a damp spot.
