a break in the clouds

A bit of excitement in the house this morning. My husband claimed to have seen a Goldcrest on our Silver Birch. Of course I didn’t believe him …… we’ve been here 35 years and never seen one. So, just to prove him wrong, I looked through the binoculars and sure enough, there was a streak of yellow on top of the little bird's head.  It’s been back this afternoon too. 

Rain was forecast for much of the day but when it was still dry mid morning i decided to chance a walk to Waterhead. The clouds looked threatening but it’s stayed dry all day.
