Birthday treats

Today started off with Doug making me breakfast (and dishing it on the 'birthday' plate). Mmm.
Then Audrey and I spent the day driving around so I could get photos. With lots of stops inbetween places, first Soledad Mission, then Gonzales winery and finally my favourite, Carmel. We drove along the beach enjoying the houses and water views and just as we were about to pull out of our last 'beach' stop I spotted a Curlew! :) A dog chased it away but it came back for me! :) So, I finally got some photos of a curlew! We ended up doing a bit of a dance as it didn't mind me getting so close...but not quite as close as I'd have liked (really need that telephoto lens!) :) I haven't had a chance to look at them yet to see how good they are...but I got them! ;)
Dinner was Luigi's lasagne and bread at home that Ian had picked up for us.
Dessert was a root beer float cake (it was chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream) after opening my presents sitting on the birthday 'throne'!

All in all - a very good day. :)
