Lake Dunstan, Cromwell
What a day! The weather has been superb, with brilliant blue skies and the sun shinning.
We left Balclutha this morning, and drove along the Otago Goldfield Heritage Trail. Stopping at Lawrence, we had a delicious morning tea at a local cafe. Enjoying the spectacular autumn colours of the poplar trees, we travelled onto Cromwell, were we stopped for lunch.
I took this photo of Lake Dunstan, from the Clyde end.
Travelling on, we travelled over the Lindis Pass, through Omarama, and onto Twizel, where we have decided to spend the night.
We stopped many times on our journey today - viewing the Roxburgh and Clyde hydro dams, and many Lakes. The reflections against the blue skies were stunning. It's been an awesome day!
