Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
So I left the house in plenty of time to be early this morning, but took a right turn instead of a left at the roundabout.
The sun was shining, and the air was still, I had to have a look at the sea... just to check it was coping okay with the lack of rain and wind.
I needn't have worried.
It was perfect. It was laying back, enjoying the still.
The little sail boat leaving the harbour was still until the putt putt of it's engine pushed it beyond the reaches of the lighthouse wall.
The sea stretched on forever, and as I sat my bum on the sand, well prepared to accept a sandy, damp patch for the rest of the morning, I thought, all is good with the world.
But it isn't.
A poor mother and father are beside themselves with grief today. Their young, attractive, outgoing, friendly, loving daughter was cruelly taken from them, by some sick individual, and now their lives will never be the same again.
Incidents like these are in the minority, but they serve to remind us that not everyone is as they appear.
Girls, please always take care when you are out enjoying yourselves; tell your friends where you are, where you are going; if he objects to your communications, walk away.
Answer your mother's texts. Reassure her you are fine.
Trust your gut instinct, and above all do not be afraid to fight, fight for your life. Fight dirty. Your life is precious.
