Bum

This is Bum. Apparently Bum was a stowaway on a steamship that arrived in San Diego in 1886, and he became the town dog. This statue of him sits right at the edge of Princes St Gardens, by the entrance off King's Stables Road.

Edinburgh and San Diego are now twinned, and in memory of their town dogs, each has a statue of both Greyfriars Bobby and Bum. Aww.

I don't go this way very often, but I don't remember seeing Bum before! Strange...
