What if?

Box elder

Box elder, Acer negundo, is common throughout Kansas. These are the staminate flowers. The trees are dioecious. The wood is of little economic value but is used in the form of charcoal by the Cheyenne and Omaha in ceremonial painting and tattooing.

Another nice day today. We still have not received the promised rain. It is all south of us. Storms in Texas and Oklahoma. Three feet of snow in the Rockies today, some parts anyway!
Thank you for all the appreciation of our scentless lilac!!

(When I look more closely at the leaves on this, I may be mistaken. It may be a white oak! I must look again tomorrow)
