The Old Haa of Scalloway
Lazier day, with a morning at home with Grandad then a trip to Scalloway via Weisdale, where the Special Operations Executive had their base for the Shetland bus - a very beautiful place. The museum in Scalloway, opened by the Norweian Prime Minister a couple of weeks ago, was a bit random but some interesting stuff. Sadly the castle wasn't open. This building (1750) used to be the laird's house, but is now on the Buildings at Risk register.
Took a drive over Trondra, and then the Burras, which would be very beautiful places to live.... No intention to move there yet though! Back to Busta for dinner at Aunty Carol's as the haar rolled in from the east in front of the setting sun - sadly this photo doesn't quite do it justice!
