Loch Morlich
An early start to be in Inverness for 9.30am. After a drive through some light fog in Fife we had a spectacular 3 hour drive to the city. The air was crystal clear. The sky was blue. The Grampians were snow capped and the traffic was light and moving smoothly.
We then spent a day inside Milburn Academy with panel members from Highland and Moray hearing about looked after children and the challenges they face when they turn 16 and considering how the children's hearings system might help improve their outcomes. A very interesting day and some challenging discussions about the role of Children's Hearings Scotland in moving forward the agenda.
We also marked the volunteer service of those who had reached 5, 20 and 15 years service as panel members.
Then late afternoon we headed back South. It was such a beautiful day we paused to make a detour to Loch Morlich. The local ducks - like the tourists - were enjoying the 17oC temperatures and this one obliged long enough to be photographed.
The drive back was equally enjoyable with the scenery looking amazing. Back home after 8 and time to unwind. Shame tomorrow's forecast does not involve sunshine!
