Hogwarts

We were all weary after our day in the sun yesterday.  First stop was Cragside for a visit to the playground and labyrinth.  We then had a lovely and very peaceful walk round the lakes by which time the sun had come out and the sky was blue.  We headed to Alnwick for a very nice al fresco lunch in the square, before heading to Howick Hall – one of TT’s favourite places, especially the tea room.  Luckily we had all left some space for cake, and the cakes did not disappoint.

We had a lovely walk in the sheltered arboretum, hardly meeting a soul. The boys played pooh sticks and I admired the magnolias.  We spotted a swan on the nest at the lake and spotted herons in the trees and wondered if they were they also on nests?

Quote of the day came from BB when we headed back to the car park in Alnwick after lunch and he cried out – look there’s Hogwarts!, as he spotted Alnwick Castle.
