Books and Kippers

We headed off to Brinkburn Priory. The only other time we visited Brinkburn it was a lovely day and the site was a suntrap. Today it was chilly, with no sun. We had forgotten how big the church is. We wandered through the manor house which looks substantial from the outside, but is really just a shell. It must have been lovely in its heyday.

Off to Alnwick to warm up and lunch at the Tiger’s favourite lunch spot before a visit to Barter Books. We left weighed down by books. The sun was out so we headed to Craster to buy some kippers, then home for another run over the stepping stones.
