A day of treats

#3 daughter organised a lovely day of treats, just the two of us. We had a glass of Prosecco then a lovely long lunch at Cafe 21. This is my Beetroot, Blood Orange and Chicory starter. I don't know when we last had time to chat without wee ones around, or the other adult members of the family.

We then went to the Laing to see the Conscience and Conflict exhibition about the Spanish Civil War, which showed mainly works by British artists, but also some Miro and Picasso. We last saw the Weeping Woman in London when I took her over 20 years ago as she was writing about the influence on war on artists for her Art GCSE project, so it was a trip down memory lane.
