Magnolia - at last!

For some time I've seen blips of stunning magnolia flowers and whole trees, but mine has continued to struggle. We planted it 8 years ago - the neighbours had one doing well so thought it would like us too. No such luck. It's not much of a specimen. It's still about the same size, but we did get some flowers this year, very late. However they are all brown round the edges - we have had late frosts the last few nights.

We'll take Thomas (16 months) to the swings in the park later - the roads are busy with Easter traffic so we've decided to stay in the village and have a picnic by the river. He won't care!
