Greater Hoopoe Lark
So pleased to have seen this bird, it may look rather ordinary but in fact it is a true desert dweller and has a very unusual flying display to reward you spotting it! (I'm not making this up by the way!) This birds flys up into the air, folds its wings and drops head first, vertically down, while uttering a low drawn out whistle. Just before hitting the ground head first it spreads its wings and lands safely! A true desert experience to see one!
