Not on a Monday

Today Monday  I went with a friend to visit an exhibition at the Turner Contemporary Gallery in Margate which is closed on Mondays but we did not realise that until we got there.  The lady in the tourist information office suggested we visit the Shell Grotto instead. Discovered in the mid 1800s by someone digging a hole in their garden; tunnels below Margate decorated with  shells. Noone knows why they are they or how old they are. It was quite interesting but did not make up for the gallery being closed.  We actually had a lovely day wandering around old Margate  - yes there are some nice bits and will have to come again
