Tide Rushes In
We've had another fantastic day with a visit to St Michael's Mount. We have visited Marazion many times but I have never felt fit enough to make the journey to the mount. Not sure I did today but we made it.
We arrived at around lunchtime & walked across the beach to join the causeway which links the island with the mainland. Once there we had a light lunch in the cafe before tackling the ascent. Having got roped up we made the arduous trip up the rough pathways to the house which was once a monastery. It was great to be on level ground but once we had enjoyed the delights of the house it was time for the descent which was easier than we thought. Once in the village we realised that the tide was coming in at a rate of knots & so we had to catch the boat back to shore, which was fun. It dropped us at some rocks where we could rejoin the causeway but the tide was fast covering it here it too. I limped back to the car & C had a quick look at the shops & we got back to the car at about the same time. After a short drive we called at Sainsburys before filling up with fuel. Then we found a pub called the Golden Lion where we had a sumptuous meal before returning back to the pad for a crash ....tired out.
Don't know if I mentioned it but the weather is fantastic !!
Sorry for not looking at everyone's blips - I will catch up soon.
My 2nd picture shows a Jet Skier just outside the harbour at St Michael's Mount. (Tide is in)
