Hanging On the Edge
J and I took today off, and didn't do a whole lot. We did drive up into the mountains and had lunch in Truckee. The weather was wonderful. Then, this afternoon, I took a long walk in the hills, just to get out and enjoy the wonderful spring day. I saw this tree that was just barely hanging on to the side of the hill. Only some of the branches had new growth. It looked like lightening had struck it in the past. But, in the midst of the seeming dead branches, was a small bird's nest with four little mouths greedily eating what the mother bird was feeding them. I thought about taking a photo of them, but somehow I didn't want to intrude further on their privacy.
