Buds are bursting out everywhere and a new herd of belted galloways has been brought on to the meadow by the River Wey here near Papercourt lock. We had to retrace our steps because nothing could persuade Pippa to walk past one of the cows. So many butterflies out too. A cold snap will take them all. Still catching up with all the pre-fishing stuff, still puzzling over the lack of salmon on the Dee. A lot of people think the dolphin pod off Aberdeen has been taking them.
