Village taxi
Back blipping on 22nd
Another busy day, slightly marred by the fact that I woke with a stonking headache, and felt mildly nauseous all day.
We had a "Day in the Life" tour, where we visited a village and joined in with some of their activities. We started with a visit to the temple, and then used the village taxi to get from there to another house, where we helped in the manufacture of wall panels from palm leaves, and then planted a couple of fruit trees.
Next to the village shop, where we bought rice and eggs. They didn't have any eggs in stock, so one of the sons was sent off on his bike to fetch some. He returned carrying them in a plastic bag, and proceeded to created scrambled egg (complete with shells) when he dropped them as he dismounted.
And thence to another house, where we helped (a bit) to cook the lunch. Unfortunately, I couldn't eat more than a couple of mouthfuls, but W tucked in to his fried veg with egg with gusto. And I was assured that no-one would take offence at my small appetite - all the more leftovers for the family!
And finally a visit to the school, to see the imaginative use they have made of plastic water bottles as building blocks.
After a siesta, in the evening we went to the Cambodian circus - and a very energetic and exciting performance it was.
