Fallen
The blossom it now falls
As gentle late Spring wind
Through bush faintly calls
A goodbye 'till another year
Tall trees once proud garlanded
With blossoms of pink hue
Their petals o'er earth now spread
As confetti for their Earth bride
Green covered now they stand proud
Root deep dug in brown earth
While above only white cloud
Bringers of rain to grow
And nest of bird of bright wing
Now fill branches, safe, secure
And daily they there joyous sing
The morning light to greet
So these petals all the years
Have fallen from new-leafed tree
Like a bereaved loved-one's tears
Fall from torn and empty heart
Till Summer's brightened days
Where sun in cloudless sky
Over verdent vista does it blaze
And sorrow starts to ease
And in falling they fed the earth
To new growth giving life
So too does sorrow bring rebirth
A renewal of a given vow
To love till death and after
To remember forever their life
The times of quiet and of laughter
And those of confidence shared
The fallen blossom now covers
That place forever held dear
But the loved one now passed over
Will stay forever and be forever near
