Copan, Honduras

Over the border into Honduras for a couple of days. We visited Copan, probably the best site to date. Firstly it has a wonderful museum with many of the thousands of sculptures restored and displayed. Then the site itself is in a beautiful semi jungle setting with brightly coloured macaws screeching around our heads.

The museum and a great local guide filled in a lot of gaps in our understanding of the amazing Mayan people. The local guide is passionate about birds and came to a RSPB event at Rutland last summer and hopes to come again this year!!!!

Off on a water adventure tomorrow and not sure about WiFi. It has been amazing so far, every hotel providing perfect access.
