in remembrance

this morning, these shoes took me to the funeral of a man i didn't know, but who meant the world to my dear friend. shire's grandfather passed away last week, and today, her family gathered to celebrate his life. the ceremony was beautiful--the impact this man had on his children and grandchildren is, in a word, inspiring.
