Watery Wednesday...
Had this title figured out in my head today, came in tonight to blip, and found out it is Thursday ! All the days seem the same at this time of year .
Any way, watery Thursday because today has either involved water,or the lack of it.
First off went to the pond in the quarry to fill an IBC with water to give the sheep a drink,as the field that has been reinstated has no water supply yet. In this hot weather the ewes are drinking lots as they are producing milk to feed their lambs.
Then the 360 digger arrived on an artic lorry to start looking at the spring to the supply tank next door. They have traced the incoming pipes, but they are choked up with red ochre so will need either jetted or replaced. This is caused by iron in the ground water reacting with oxygen. The digger has had to put "bog mats" down to sit on to prevent it sinking in the peat.
Was spreading more fert when I got a phone call from Little Miss wondering when I was picking her up from school. Whoops, guess who had forgotten ! No harm done though, only an hour late !
