Ask for forgiveness.

Sometimes in life it is better to ask for forgiveness than permission...

Today is such a day.

We have arrived in London.

That's me, my colleague, and 12 students.

On Sunday we will be busy as I indicated yesterday.

Today has been travelling, dropping the equipment off and getting settled into the hostel.

We have also been to the marathon exhibition, where the students collected lots of freebies and met top GB wheelchair athlete Shelly Woods.

I got up close with the winner's trophy.

Valued at over £100,000 it stands not much short of my height of 5 feet 9 inches.

The winner doesn't get to take it home but does have their name engraved on it.

The trophy spends most of its time in a museum and only comes out for the marathon. Thankfully it wasn't in a vault in Hatton Garden!

I asked if I could touch the trophy. I was told I couldn't.

I should have just touched it and accepted the telling off for doing so. I'm reasonably confident if I'd tried to run off with it I would not have got far.
