Train station by the sea, Colombo

We head to the airport after waking up, glad our flight has been changed from 9.40am to 1.40pm so we've caught up on a bit of sleep.  Andy is ridiculously groggy this morning ... he took one of the sleeping tablets he got in Thailand and had a fitful night's sleep and can't wake up.  Bin for them we think.

On arrival at Colombo airport we take a local bus to the fort area and then a tuk tuk to our apartment where our host is waiting for us. The apartment is ok and Ashan and his mum are really nice and helpful.  We take a wander in the late afternoon. The fort area seemed to be the main area of Colombo when we looked into it but actually it was just loads of buses and stalls and where we are now seems a bit more of a commercial area but still not a lot around. We aren't far from the sea, however, and this train station is just down the road.  After walking up and down the road we find a local curry place for dinner which is really nice. Andy has the fish curry and Fred tries the local dish Kottu which is stodgy but nice - her appetite seems to be coming back finally.
