at home with an Ivysaurus

Big sister quality assurance test

Today two snug seats arrived for the twins - ivy insisted on testing them out (they have a removable insert for smaller babies) and then looked at the tray and suggested 'snack?'. I was quite pleased with tracking these down second hand - wasn't easy (had to compromise, they are raspberry pink). In the end what I had to do was say to a lady who had twins, that when she came to sell could we have them - which is why they've come at a really random time. Ivy had a similair chair called a bumbo, which was cute but didn't fit her Big cloth nappied bottom very well.

It turned out one of the side effects of my steroid injections was that I was wide awake most of the night. Thankfully, Jenny offered to come take ivy to Gaelic toddlers for me in the morning. I spent most of the day dreading round 2 of steroids - made my first ever batch of tablet so I'd have something sugary for after. Our thermomix style mixer made light work of it - came out not half bad, potentially not as crunchy as I like it- but Euan approved. Dont see me ever attempting it using the proper stove top method though.

Ivy went to school to hang out with Euan in the staffroom whilst I went for my injection. There was a worrying bit where it looked like we might have to drive to Ness, since the gp was expecting me to have the steriod with me and they hadn't been told what dose I needed to make sure they had it. Gp finally got hold off someone In raigmore and a solution was found, so luckily (ha!) I got the horrible horrible injection as planned.

Ivy and I left Euan in school to walk Home (literally one end of the street to the other) whilst he went to finish some work and then go put in and collect a prescription for me from the chemist. He still managed to arrive at the front door at the same time as us! Walking anywhere with ivy is not a speedy process. She stopped off on the way to go visit the practising pipe band in the village hall and sign herself up as a future bass drummer and then we bumped into Lisa and findlay- arranged for him and nuala to come to us on Sunday morning whilst Lisa's away (she's our designated ivy sitter if I go into early Labour so we owe babysitting time)- ivy didn't quite understand that it was not immediately that finlay was coming to play- she keeps asking when he's going to get here.
