The Tri-Valley National Honor Society
This is a picture of the current National Honor Society at our school. It was taken in the gym at the annual blood drive. I was inducted into the National Honor Society in November of 2013 and have been a member ever since. We do a lot of volunteer service like helping at the SPCA, Special Olympics, and field days for the elementary school. Every year on the day before we leave for Thanksgiving break, we also host a Seniors vs. Teachers volleyball tournament. The proceeds are then donated to a charity chosen by the winning team. Last year when we were juniors, a lot of our members helped at Senior Awards Night, Baccalaureate, and Graduation. Now we have an idea of what is going on for this year when it is our turn. Being a part of the National Honor Society has been very helpful to me. A lot of my activities drag me away from home to do things, but with them I have been able to do things that directly help my community. It has also given me the determination to strive for better grades within school. I also have a lot of friends who are also in NHS so it is nice to be able to do all of these things as a team.
