Howden Dam

The water was running over the Howden Dam in the Upper Derwent Valley this afternoon.

Bright sunshine but very chilly. There was snow, hail, thunder and high winds this morning and the North side of Kinder Scout still had snow lying as we crossed over the Pennines to the sunny side.

Its some years since I have been up to the end of the road and it was a great day to go with very little traffic of any kind.

Common Sandpiper were walking on the dam wall !
