It never Fails- Smile!
With His Lordship rallying dramatically from the jaws of an early chest infected demise, and feeling strong enough to ramble once more in them thar hills despite the forecast, I was free to linger, as arranged, like a double agent in the doorway of Sandy Bell's pub in Forrest Road, waiting the arrival of my contact for the morning.
At the appointed time, there she was, woman of a stature similar to my own enabling us to see eye to eye, stepping briskly off a no 23 bus. There was no rolled umbrella, briefcase or red carnation in a buttonhole, but she was instantly recognisable from her mug shots on Blipfoto as the redoubtable Snapper.
We repaired to the Dower House to exchange information over tea and biscuits while the weather outside did a disagreeable winter simulation, complete with freezing wind and icy rain.
All too soon work called her back to the Museum, while I braved the elements to bring home the supper.
Now the heating is on, the slippers are on, and not even a FitBit shackle will force me outdoors again today.
