Northern California
We started our day by heading north out of San Francisco across the Golden Gate Bridge. We first travelled to Muir Woods to see some of the oldest, tallest trees in the world - the stunning Redwoods - which have grown up to 270ft tall. After a walk in the woods we headed up to Mount Tamalpais which had stunning views of San Francisco and the bay. This was followed by visiting Stinson beach for some lunch and then visiting Point Reyes to see the San Andreas Fault. At point Reyes you can see a fence which dates back to 1906, when the worst recorded earthquake took place, which had been offset by 16 feet by the fault trending right through. We finished our tour by visiting the Sonoma/Napa region and taking part in some wine tasting at the Anaba Winery. On the way back to San Francisco we stopped at a restaurant on the bay before catching the Golden Gate Bridge lit up at night.
