Bargains Galore!
Had a lovely evening last night with T & L. The Outsider was buzzing. In fact, buzzing very loudly. But no muzak! So a BIG plus. It was just the crowd of raucous girls near us that caused a few hearing problems. We were seated in the famous 'whispering' room, where the acoustics are amazing. If you whisper at one side, you can be heard on the other side, and these girls were not whisperers! So not really the best for L, who was a bit hard of hearing in one ear. It made me realise how muzak is really distressing for folk with hearing problems, let alone people like me who just get annoyed with it.
However, the service was good, including a complimentary glass of bubbly. The meal was good, but we gave up on dessert and went along the road for a quieter coffee.
But it was not quieter! The Missoni bar was loud as well, but the staff came and organised a table for us old fogies round the corner, away from the muzak, and told us the wifi login, so we could browse T's iPad. I think I may have enlisted some Canadian blippers, as the whole family is keen on photography.
T&L came a day early in order to meet up with us before their island trip with their daughter and son-in-law. How cool is that? They were amazed horrified at how long it took to get in from the airport. In fact, we had to change our dinner booking to later in the evening. But that Canadian trip is getting closer!
Slow start this morning, then a wander through the Meadows Festival. A blipper's paradise. I thought I had my blip for today when I took this photo. I stalked followed her for a bit and then she was joined by another cool lady! I had to go and ask them if I could take their photo, and they were happy to pose. Two for the price of one! Brilliant! I love a bargain.
On into town, and it was hoachin' *. This lot look familiar. Loads of Stag and Hen parties - stay clear of town tonight! Popped into My Lounge in the City, and they had made a bit of an effort with bunting, flags, pictures of the Queen and even a cardboard cut out of her. It was busier than I've ever seen it, and there wasn't a spare iPad for me!!
:-(
But there were scones with and jam and cream, so I was happy!
:-)
*hoachin': really busy, crowded, packed
