A Dodgems and Doggie Dash Day

Well, I must say it's nice to have the whole day after wasting half of it yesterday...

I was up at the crack of dawn. Accidentally - I misread the time. In fact, I'd been up blipping at 2am - couldn't sleep. But it meant I had a hour or so to read the papers before getting organised for the day.

Another warm day - this must be classed as summer now! Not only was my hat off, my jumper tied round my waist, but my sleeves were rolled up too.

A wander through the Meadows Festival - they'll be pleased it's gone so well this year - it's usually a cold miserable washout. We went to the ECA Degree Show. Well, the stuff in the main building, I'm afraid, I just don't get. I don't want to mention any examples in case some blippers or friends of blippers did them. There was nothing inspiring, or even, to my untrained eye, showing talent, but certainly plenty of pretentiousness and (misplaced) self-confidence.

However, the stuff in the new building was terrific. Glasswork, product design, performance costumes (amazing) interior design. At one point I sat down on a chair recently vacated by a student on duty, and I was asked about where the next part of the exhibition was. I pretended I was a student and directed them.

Popped in to the groovy cafe 'LoveCrumbs' for a scone and coffee and papers. Then JR went on into town, and I came back via the Festival. I spent ages at the Dog Show bit. They had competitions like 'The Waggiest Tail,' the 'Fastest Sausage Eater,' 'The dog who looks most like the owner,' etc, but the crowds were knee deep around the arena.

Plenty of room to take photos at the 'Doggie Dash', where they were timed jumping over bales of hay to get to their owner. It was great. I knew I had my blip there! And array of dogs of all sizes and shapes - I could hardly drag myself away.

But I did. I went to the dodgems. That was even better fun! Blip.
