Prayers for Nepal

We have been very focussed this week on the tragedy in Nepal and the children have been very keen to express this tangibly. We had a parent in who spent time in Kathmandu to talk to us, learnt a few words of Nepali ( namaste!) and a non uniform day for fundraising. But the thing that captured them most was the idea of writing a prayer and hanging it as the Nepalese do outside in the elements to be taken up. Here you see some, on the five colours- red fire, blue space, white air, yellow earth and green water. The whole of ks2 have written them and hung them up . They are a poignant reminder of the disaster far way.
