Bombo Headland
A few months ago my brother in law and I began the great Kiama Coastal Walk. At long last, with the passing of summer, we felt it was time to complete the task.
Bombo headland, just north of Kiama, is a prominent feature of the walk, representing the most important deposit of latite rock in Australia. For many years it was quarried for its exceptional qualities as railway ballast. Remarkable latite formations can be seen along the shoreline. I have included a few extra pictures of today's leg. Why not take a look?
One more thing. If there was EVER an example of the difference which can be made with a dark viewing mat, the image above is it. Please look large.
