..from the left, Uncle George who died in January, my father who died in 1992, my mother who died yesterday, and Emily - thankfully doing fine and living in Dumfries.  

There was more than a fair share of troubles ahead, but they were determined to - and succeeded in - giving me a very happy childhood.
