It's all in the Bling
Day 3 streaking.
I was not in the mood to go out running today, then got a glimpse of the medals from what I had achieved from last year, it motivated me.
I thought to myself, if I still went out and ran the races despite a hamstring injury and I either hobble to the end (a couple of times in tears) or ended up in a medical tent five out of the races twelve races, then a bit of "I really can't be bothered" is a lame excuse!
So I laced up my runners, stuck my headphones in, turned off the voice feedback from my running app and trotted.
I'm glad I went out, I only stopped twice during the 6k today (damn you hills) but feel better for it!
Last years challenge was trying to get 12 medals, which I achieved. But because I didn't spread out the races enough. I ended up with 4 races in a month. This didn't give myself enough time to recover and the injury just got worse.
This year I have learnt from my mistake and it's all about quality. And gearing up for the Big Goal....a Marathon!!
Looking at each of the medals, I can still remember the different emotions that was going through me during and after each race...
