Penarth

This is the marina at Penarth, in South Wales, and is just a short walk from where I will shortly be living.

My wife and I spent a lot of time today exploring Penarth and really liked what we saw. It has a lovely pier, a nice beach, beautiful parks and a thriving town centre with an excellent range of shops. 

It also hosts the ffotogallery, the national development agency for photography and lens-based media in Wales. From what I can tell, its exhibitions are staged in Penarth and its courses, library and archive are hosted at another premises to the west of Cardiff city centre. As a photography student, it's great to have such resources on the doorstep.

We came away feeling pretty excited about being based in this area, with a long list of places we want to explore more.
