Apple Blossom

Very much a home day today sorting lots of things out. The extra day at the weekend is really useful - we are hardly ever at home like this (it takes illness to achieve that), and it is very pleasurable.

We've got a small apple tree in the garden - no idea what type, no idea how to look after it (should it be pruned hard ?). I love the blossom more than the apples, even though the flowers are totally unspectacular. I think it has to do with the promise of things to come. Whether apples will appear is another question - no insects around at all today, so if it is like last year's spring, pollination may be poor.
