Painted church at Honohau

St Benedict Roman Catholic church at South Kona was built in the 1840s and decorated in the turn of the century by the priest, who was a self-taught artist. The paintings were used to teach the congregation and has apparently become a major tourist attraction.

Luckily, when we visited there were only a couple of other people there.
