May Day

As has become tradition, Katie spent the day at the May Day family fun day at the Races. Less in keeping with tradition, Mama didn't go. But she had a brilliant time. She loved the maypole dancing. She loved the petting zoo. She had her face painted. She had "ALLSORTS!!" for a picnic lunch - "but not sausage rolls, mama, cos Uncle A. forgot those". They watched a couple of the races and the horse she wanted to win in fact won. They had a wonderful time on the pasture near by, rolling down the hill, having wheelbarrow races and generally enjoying the sun. She also rather enjoyed the homemade chicken pie she was fed for tea. She had a lovely day though was nicely ready for big mama cuddles when I went to get her. Happy pickle.
