What a day!! We got up pretty early- Katie is resetting to her summer timetable unfortunately, so 5am it was. But we fully exploit it so were at the pool just after 830. She had a great swim, she swam very hard as she has her assessment next Wednesday. We then got a takeaway bacon buttie for her and headed to the train.

We got a train to Bridlington where we met Vic, john and jas. Katie and jas had a lovely play for a while before we all headed out for a trip to Sewerby hall. Katie was adamant we would go see the monkeys first, then the penguins. We had a chat with the peacock before we all went to the play area. She had a fabulous time on a pirate ship and climbing net. She was unimpressed by the cafés lack of advertised soup but came round at the idea of cucumber and tortilla chips.

They dropped us off at Bridlington spa where we met granny, grandad and a selection of Elvi (Elvises?) for the gospel round of the Elvis festival competition weekend. Granny is a huge Elvis fan, so we thought we would venture to a small part of a weekend she really enjoys every year. Katie liked the first half, which was a selection of the organiser and contestants, with backing tracks. The second half was live band. That half she really enjoyed. And afterwards met the organising Elvis, who she thought was the "real Elvis". Tea out to round off the day!
