Flew out of Istanbul to Cappadocia today. We hiked around and toured all the caves and interesting rock formations. A very touristy type of day... We ended up at a cave hotel with original Ottoman decor. It was a perfect balance between old and new design, with a luxurious bathroom enclosed in a cave, swanky bedding with Ottoman robing hanging on the wall. I ended up smoking hookah, drinking tea, and talking with some of hotel staff. We even ventured into town together for drinks and disco. It's altogether easy to make friends in Turkey I'm discovering.
